I had a new world open to me eight years ago when I was looking for a bear related present for my niece, when I stumbled across artist bears. I was thoroughly hooked and after a period of patience, practice and persistence I am where I am now. Through a love of anything art, craft or design related, it's easy for me to see how I ended up here. After gaining a national diploma in graphic design and a pre-diploma in art and design, I feel I've found something that brings together everything I love - creativity, design and animals! My Grandmother was a seamstress so maybe it's in my genes! I live with my partner Robert, six cats, five chickens and two guinea pigs. I love gardening, the outdoors and wildlife. |

The
Bears
All the bears and rabbits are 'One of a Kind'. I prefer not to look backwards and like each creation to be a new concept. Each and every creation is made from scratch by me, from pattern design to the final stitch. I especially love to spend time on their eyes and use a variety of tecniques to achieve the look I want. They do say the eyes are the windows to the soul and I believe that stands true to the bears too! I use either mohair or synthetic plush for their 'fur'. There's nothing like running your hands through a new piece of material and wondering who will appear from it! Believe what they say 'bearmaking is addictive'. I don't see myself doing anything else, but slowly evolve my designs and carry on, carrying on sewing.................
